ABOUT

I first became interested in computers when I was seven years old, and ever since then, my interest in computers has continued to grow. In high school, I took many computer and art courses, such as visual arts, photography, communication technology, graphic design, fashion design, and even baking (to learn cake decorating). Digital art has always been my favorite because I love the things I am able to create with a computer. All of this led me to want a career involving computers, but, in a way, that would continue to let me be creative.

I graduated from the Digital Media program at York University. During my time at York, I have learned much more than I had ever expected to learn. I remember being inspired in my first year by a guest speaker who talked about creating art that existed not only in the physical world but in the virtual world as well. This led me to expand my mind to the possibilities of what could be created. Throughout the years, I have learned to be innovative and go beyond what was being taught in class. Due to lessons like these, I have been able to expand my creativity and create things I never knew I could. Through the Digital Media program, I have learned a lot about physical computing and MAX/MSP/Jitter as well as coding languages such as JavaScript, Python, HTML, and Java. These skills made it possible for me to create projects that have a fun and unique way of engaging the users. Many of the projects that I have created have been showcased at York University and in various galleries in downtown Toronto.

I have had the great fortune of working on some truly inspiring projects while networking with many influential and creative individuals over the years. I believe in the power of working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
